This is not a one size fits all practice, but rather one in which, with an open mind, one can find what works for them and move from there. It is my deeply held belief that we all deserve to live pain free- physically, mentally and soulfully and in alignment with our truth. My teaching philosophy is designed to not only teach you to be a better “yogi” but to be a better you and to learn to translate the teachings of yoga into your life off the mat.
Mary is a gifted and generous teacher. I had tried yoga a few times before, but it wasn't until I started taking class with Mary regularly that I really found a way to make yoga work for me. Her classes are challenging & encouraging at the same time, and she approaches teaching with an understanding that each person is different. I'm often reminded of the simple words she'd often repeat: "move like you." Part of her gift is to teach with precision, while also empowering each student to trust & listen to their own bodies & intuition. Mary creates an environment that is welcoming, and fosters a sense of community in her class -- not easy to do in a NYC gym setting! And most of all, she seems to genuinely care about each person in her class. I found myself leaving class not only feeling physically great, but with snippets of wisdom to carry with me throughout the day.
I am a 800+ hour certified yoga teacher based in NYC. As a former professional dancer, my classes are artfully sequenced to flow creatively, intelligently and intuitively and to stimulate both the body and the mind. My sequencing is designed to assist in creating new pathways of trust within yourself as we learn to trust the journey both on and off the mat.
Let’s flow together, even while we are apart. Virtual classes have been an amazing opportunity for us to continue practicing together throughout this pandemic and to continue prioritizing our health and sense of community. Classes are Monday- Friday, open level, and offered in both 30 and 60-minute formats.
I created this On-Demand Library in recognition of the many demands of life and how challenging it can be to schedule in a live class. Here you have access to both vinyasa and restorative classes, meditations, pose tutorials, and so much more in which you can watch anytime anywhere. Classes range from 10-70 minutes and are available to either purchase or rent.
Looking for a more personalized experience? Private sessions are an excellent way to more deeply focus and customize your practice and schedule. Working one on one gives me the opportunity to make each practice all about you and what you need on the mat.
